Jake Roberts Denies Reports He’s In Bad Health, Says It’s ‘Totally Untrue’

Jake Roberts is planning on being around for a long time.

Earlier this week, reports about Jake Roberts’ current health emerged and it was said that the WWE Hall Of Famer / AEW manager was in bad health. Roberts has now spoken out about these reports and said it’s “totally untrue” and he’s here for the long haul.

“Hey guys once again someone wants to make a splash on the internet and what better way is there than putting out Jake Roberts is in bad health. Totally untrue. I’m going to be around a long time,” Roberts wrote.

Roberts’ health was recently brought up on a recent episode of Jim Ross’ Grilling JR podcast, where Ross said that Roberts was still battling breathing issues, but he was taking the right steps to address it, including more surgeries in the future to correct it.

“He’s not in great health. That’s why you don’t see him as often on AEW television as he once was when he was fronting Lance Archer,” Ross stated.

Jake Roberts has been open about his battle with COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and emphysema, which caused him to have issues in the past few years. On a recent episode of the DDP SnakePit podcast, Roberts said that he’s seeing a specialist to treat it, noting that the pandemic was a scary time for him because contracting COVID-19 had the potential to kill him. Roberts also said that he’s no longer required to use an oxygen tank unless he’s flying on an airplane, but he’s otherwise managing his breathing through treatment and without the tank.
