The giant Omos has a lot of fond memories of his time tagging with AJ Styles.
Omos was a recent guest on Out of Character with Ryan Satin to talk about a wide variety of subjects. When asked about his tag team with The Phenomenal AJ Styles, Omos had nothing but praise for his former tag team partner. Calling him not only a blessing but a big brother as well.
“I could go on about how amazing and wonderful that man is,” Omos said. “He has been such a blessing to me, not only in the ring, but out of the ring he has become my big brother. I can talk to him about anything. We have long talks and, even us being separated now, I actually sit back on everything — because I truly have reverence for him.”
Omos learned a lot from The Phenomenal One, calling him a great teacher during the time that they were together.
“He knew when to be stern. He knew when to be empathetic,” Omos said. “He knew when to back off and just listen and let me talk. He’s a great teacher.”
AJ Styles and Omos split up late last year which was a surprise to many in the WWE Universe. Omos believes there was a lot more the two of them could have done together as a team but understood that it was time to go their separate ways.
“I personally thought there was a lot more we could’ve done, but also understood that it was time for me to go my own way,” Omos admitted. “I thought we could’ve done some really, really cool stuff.”
