Randy Orton is getting by with a little help from his friend.
RAW Tag Team Champions Randy Orton and Riddle [RK-Bro] appeared on the 4/20 edition of WWE’s The Bump to celebrate Orton’s 20-year anniversary in WWE. Orton would get a bit sentimental when describing his friendship with ‘The Original Bro’, saying he [Orton] just needed a friend… a spot in which Riddle was quick to fill the void.
“What do I like the most about Riddle? Wow. There’s so many things…yeah, there’s so many things that I like about Riddle,” Orton said. “I think, in all honesty, I think what I like the most…God, look at him cheesin’, I can’t even [laughs]. What I like the most about Riddle, is that he’s allowed me to kind of have a smile on my face in the ring and enjoy what I do for a living more. Maybe that doesn’t sound as big of a deal… but it’s a huge deal because I wasn’t really having as much fun in the ring as I could’ve been having.
“I needed Matt to come in there and show me what’s up, he’s a good time, he’s a good friend and he’s got my back. Obviously in the ring, we do our thing and that’s work and work is work,” Orton explained, “work’s awesome but like, on a personal level, we talk, we talk when we’re off, we talk when we’re in the locker room. We’re more than just friends on-screen, we’re friends in real life too and Randy Orton needed a friend.”
Orton and Riddle are set to face SmackDown Tag Team Champions Jimmy and Jey Uso in a title unification match at WrestleMania: Backlash on May 8.
