Josh Alexander is ready to become a two-time IMPACT World Champion at Rebellion.
“The Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander recently sat down with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about choosing to sign a new deal with IMPACT Wrestling, Alexander said he never wanted to leave the company in the first place, adding that he doesn’t like the fact that other wrestlers have used this company as a stepping stone in the past.
“I’ve always been bothered that IMPACT has been used as a stepping stone,” Josh Alexander said. “To me, that’s a knock against the company. I had other options, but I chose to stay with IMPACT Wrestling. I never wanted to leave. Brandi [Rhodes] calling me out in AEW, that prompted the news cycle to think I was going to AEW, but I never wanted to leave IMPACT.”
Josh Alexander’s journey to the IMPACT World Championship reached a disappointing conclusion at Bound For Glory when Moose quickly took the title from Alexander minutes after defeating Christian Cage for it. Alexander knows his upcoming rematch against Moose at Rebellion is one of the biggest matches of his career.
“This is the biggest match of my 17-year career,” Josh Alexander said. “But this isn’t just for me. It’s for my family and my fans, the ones that have stuck with me. It’s been a long road to get here. I’m going to show that emotion, that motivation and the heart that brought me to this point—and that’s going to make me world champion.”
