Rob Gronkowski Wants To Team Up With The Rock, Pitches Other Ideas

Rob Gronkowski has some high-profile aspirations for his potential return to the ring.

The four-time Super Bowl champion, who has also held the WWE 24/7 Championship, memorably hosted WrestleMania 36 in the Performance Center in 2020. He’s also a real-life friend of former WWE star Mojo Rawley. During a recent appearance on TMZ Sports, when Mojo asked “Gronk” how he’d like to see his return to WWE go, he pitched having a successful run as a tag team.

“It would definitely be a tag team match, no doubt about that,” said Gronkowski. “I just love the tag team aspect of everything. It’s my first time, so I really wouldn’t wanna be on my own, doing a one-on-one match. I’d be able to get help and grow into that role, maybe doing a one-on-one match after a couple tag teams. My tag team partner could help me out with some moves, you know, and all that good stuff.”

The renowned NFL tight end went on to describe how he’d like to team up with The Rock, and he also suggested returning to WWE and winning the tag title alongside Mojo, among other ideas. He went on to note that he doesn’t want to face anybody that’s bigger than him.

“It would be pretty cool to have The Rock come back and face The Rock, or have him as my tag team partner,” said Gronkowski. “It would be cool to get a People’s Elbow, but it would also be cool to have him on my squad. You and I, maybe we could go back, maybe make a quick appearance, be the tag team champions and we could go [against] The Rock and then you know, maybe like D-Generation X, we could bring them back. We can tag team against them, that would be pretty cool.

“Maybe Val Venis can come back, we can tag team, he was one my favorites. I love the old-school guys. I wouldn’t wanna go versus someone like The Big Show or The Undertaker, they’re just too massive, dude. Too massive. I don’t like when I go [against] guys bigger than me. I like to be the biggest guy.”
