Report: ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham Signs With AEW/ROH

Jonathan Gresham has signed with All Elite Wrestling and, by extension, Ring of Honor.

Gresham defeated Bandido at ROH Supercard of Honor to become the undisputed ROH World Champion; this event was the company’s first show under AEW president Tony Khan’s ownership. At the post-show media scrum, Khan stated that he wanted Gresham to defend the title on AEW programming. “The Octopus” will put the title on the line against Dalton Castle at AEW Battle of the Belts II.

In an update, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported a confirmation of his previous report that Gresham had signed with AEW/ROH. Ross Sapp noted that it’s AEW contract that will see Gresham wrestle for ROH.

Outside of ROH, Gresham will compete at the IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion pay-per-view on April 23.

Fans continue to see the overlap  between AEW and ROH under Khan’s leadership; Samoa Joe won the ROH World Television Championship on the April 13 episode of AEW Dynamite. The previous week, FTR defended the tag titles against The Young Bucks.
