Bandido Doesn’t Make Scheduled Appearance At GCW Devil In A New Dress (Updated)

Bandido did not make his scheduled appearance at GCW “Devil in a New Dress” in San Francisco on April 10.

The former Ring of Honor World Champion was scheduled to face Nick Wayne at the show.

About an hour before the event began, GCW tweeted that Bandido apparently did not get on his flight to San Francisco, and GCW hadn’t heard from him. Plus, GCW wrote that he didn’t respond to their messages. In the same post, GCW stated that it would work to find a suitable replacement for him. At the show, Wayne faced EFFY instead. EFFY previously issued an open challenge to Jeff Jarrett for the show, but the WWE Hall of Famer did not appear.

Bandido was quite active over WrestleMania weekend; he competed at the AAA show, the MLW show, two WrestleCon events, and ROH Supercard of Honor.

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.

Update: Later in the evening, GCW owner Brett Lauderdale noted that he deleted a tweet about the cost of Bandido’s plane ticket, which GCW paid for, because he understood that it seemed insensitive. He stated that before he posted the tweet, he talked to people “in the know” who assured him that Bandido was “fine.” Lauderdale emphasized that others have confirmed that Bandido is “okay” and stated that he should have waited to hear from him directly.
