Chris Adonis Wants To Challenge For The NWA World Title: I Think It’ll Be My Turn To Step Up Soon

Chris Adonis wants to challenge for the Ten Pounds of Gold, and he believes he’s on the right track.

Adonis, a former NWA National Champion, remains a featured star in the NWA, and he has his sights set on the Worlds Heavyweight Championship.

In an interview with MuscleManMalcolm, when asked about his interest in making the leap and becoming a contender, he explained that in his mind, it’ll be his turn to step up soon. He also stated that he has proven that he has the talent to be a title contender, so this year could be a good time to chase the gold.

“I think I’m on a good trajectory now, and I was obviously the NWA National Champion, and I think pretty soon it’ll be my turn to my step up and compete for the Ten Pounds of Gold,” said Adonis. “I think year is as good a time as any and I think I’ve proven at least that I have the talent to be in that spot.

Adonis also described the NWA locker room as a like-minded team, as everyone has a similar belief about the way wrestling should be presented.

“We’re a unit,” said Adonis. “A lot of guys came from OVW, but another thing is, we all have the same vision for what wrestling [is], how it should be presented, what matters and all that stuff. So we’re all pointed in the same direction and we have the same philosophy. And also it’s kind of cool because it’s a little more of a team effort in terms of everybody wanting to, if somebody does something good, you want to tell each other. But if they do something bad, you want to tell them that as well.”

Matt Cardona currently holds the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship; time will tell whether Adonis challenges him for the title.
