The Blackpool Combat Club has been somewhat feuding with Best Friends in recent weeks, as Yuta has clearly teased his interest in leaving his group and siding with Danielson, Moxley, and William Regal. This potential move has caused a rift in the Best Friends, as seen when Trent Beretta called Yuta a “scumbag” and a “traitor” on Wednesday night. Yuta came up short when he faced Danielson on the March 30 episode of AEW Dynamite, but he delivered an impressive performance.
Later in the show, AEW announced that Swerve Strickland would face QT Marshall in a singles match. Plus, Willow Nightingale will take on Red Velvet in a qualifying match for The Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament
The card for the April 7 episode of AEW Rampage is as follows:
- Bryan Danielson vs. Trent Beretta
- Jon Moxley vs. Wheeler Yuta
- Swerve Strickland vs. QT Marshall
- Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament: Willow Nightingale vs. Red Velvet
