Duquesne Lineman Roman Macek Offered Three-Year WWE Developmental Deal

WWE has offered Roman Macek a developmental deal, according to the Duquesne offensive lineman.

After he participated in the WWE tryout during WrestleMania week, Macek was subsequently informed of WWE’s interest in him.

Macek, an offensive lineman at Duquesne, was part of the WWE tryout during WrestleMania week and he received news on Tuesday that WWE was interested.

In an interview with Trib Live, Macek explained that he has been offered a three-year developmental contract by the company. He shared his reaction to the news by describing how he instantly became quite emotional and accepted the offer then and there.

“Immediately, I started tearing up,” Macek said. “I threw my hands in the air. I said thank you probably 400 times in the span of 10 seconds. Accepted it immediately. It was an unbelievable feeling. It felt so surreal. …This is something I wanted my entire life.”

Macek also made it clear that he’s been a fan of WWE since he was a kid; he named John Cena, Randy Orton, and Triple H as some of the stars he watched.

“I’ve been a fan since I was a little kid. … I’ve always had a passion for the WWE,” Macek said. “I grew up watching John Cena, Randy Orton, Edge, Shawn Michaels, Triple H.”

Macek stated that he’s supposed to get the actual contract later this week; Trib Live notes that if he accepts, he’d be required by WWE to move to Florida within 60 days.

Duquesne, a first-year law student, has one more season of eligibility in his collegiate career. He is a second-team All-NEC lineman. In the interview, he stated that he’d make an announcement about his future soon on social media.
