Kevin Owens Details The ‘Family’ Factors That Led Him To Re-Sign With WWE

Vince McMahon is a big Kevin Owens guy, and it turns out that Owens is about his work family as well.

Kevin Owens recently appeared on ESPN’s DC & RC Show and delved into his recent contract negotiations with the company, mentioning that WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon made it ‘very clear’ that he wanted him to return to the company.

“Well, a big part of it was that Vince McMahon made it pretty clear to me that he wanted me to stay. I’ve been in WWE for seven years at this point, I have a lot of friends other places in wrestling but there’s a whole side of WWE that people don’t get to see,” Owens explained, “whether it’s the production crew or the camera people, the stage managers, the creative team, all these people, they’re all very special people. They’re all part of my family, my extended family now, my professional family if you wanna call it that. So that — those are all factors that led to me, ya know, staying put because Vince made it clear that he wanted me to stay, it feels like my home and all those other people there that if I wasn’t there, I wouldn’t get to see anymore and it was the right move, that’s really all there is to it.”

Owens is slated to host The KO Show with special guest ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin during night one of WrestleMania 38 on April 2. Owens recently spoke with Abe Kanan to discuss his “confrontation” with Austin and what having a program together at WrestleMania means to him.

“Yeah, I wanna give credit where credit is due for everybody but I don’t think there’s anything bigger than Stone Cold Steve Austin coming back at WrestleMania, for what seems to be a confrontation, the way he spoke makes me think we’re not gonna have a nice chat, he certainly seems inclined to do something else and I’m more than happy to oblige as well. So, it’s going to be pretty special and again, night one, night two, if you’re asking me, there’s really nothing bigger than that.”
