Adam Cole loves himself some Master Chief, bay bay!
All Elite Wrestling‘s Adam Cole recently sat down with Paramount Plus to discuss his Halo fandom and why the franchise as a whole is so important to him.
“My name is Adam Cole. I am a professional wrestler. Sometimes I go by Chugs on Twitch, and I am a Halo superfan,” Adam Cole began. “I remember experiencing Halo for the first time, thanks to my younger brother. He had went over to a friend’s house and played this game called Halo Combat Evolved. And he said it was the most fun he ever had playing a first-person shooter video game. So he ended up getting an Xbox, and we would play together, and my god, the amount of land parties and friends we’d have overeating snacks and drinking some soda and playing four v four Halo Combat Evolved, was so much fun.
“I was on the wrestling team. And we used to run out to the Halo theme for our wrestling meets. So yeah, definitely Halo has been a big part of my life really since its inception. Master Chief is my favorite character as far as an overall story arc for him from Halo Combat Evolved to Halo Infinite. Yeah, I love the development of his character. I love the history of his character. I love what he stands for. He’s an ultimate hero, in my opinion.
“Recently on a wrestling pay-per-view. I came out dressed as the Master Chief, as a shout-out to Halo, and as a shout-out for John 117 because it really has impacted me that much, so it’s not just a form of entertainment for me. It really has helped me in a lot of different ways too. I’m really, really excited to see what the Master Chief brings to the table here in the Halo television series. Very, very excited about that. But aside from that, we have a lot of familiar faces in this television show as well.
“I think overall what I’m most excited for is to see the way the TV show tells this story or this particular story within the Halo universe and how they develop the characters. I am stoked and beyond excited for anyone who’s played the games for anyone who’s a fan of Halo. We have been dying for something like this for a very, very long time. Because we know how incredible the story is and how much story there is to tell. Maybe there’s a ton of story that hasn’t been told yet.
“The Halo Universe is just so fascinating. I could not be more excited for this and generally overall, and I really do mean this. I want Halo to be seen by as many people as possible, in as many different formats as possible, because I know how much it means to me. And I want other people to feel that same way. Halo is responsible for my passion for the video game industry and video games as a whole. And Halo is one of the greatest stories that I’ve ever watched unfold.”
The Halo television series is currently streaming now on Paramount Plus.
