Roman Reigns Compares Himself To Michael Jordan, Says He Personally Motivates Himself To Reach ‘God Mode’

Is Roman Reigns the Michael Jordan of WWE?

The WWE Universal Champion was recently a guest on The Michael Kay Show to discuss a wide variety of topics. When asked if he has respect for Brock Lesnar, Reigns says that he does but at the same time, he has to have some hate too. Much like NBA legend Michael Jordan used to motivate himself to greatness, Reigns says does the same thing.

“Oh, of course, absolutely respect him, but in this sense, when it goes to one v one hand on hand, you got to have some hate,” Roman Reigns admitted. “Whether it’s to the core, not you have to you know, like Michael Jordan, I have to like personally motivate myself and grasp on to anything I can to take myself to that main event energy to that main event level to that championship defense mode. God mode, if you will. So yeah, there’s gonna be a lot of respect for many different reasons. Who he is as a performer, as an athlete. The history that we have, the way it’s affected me and my career, the way it’s changed my mindset, the things that I’ve learned, the things that I’ve done wrong, and how I’ve corrected those things. There’s so many things to be grateful for within my interactions with Brock, especially this one that’s coming up in WrestleMania when I beat them, and I solidify this run as the greatest Universal Champion of all time.”

When asked what we can expect to see from him tonight on SmackDown, Reigns seemed most concerned about making sure he gives the WWE Universe a good show.

“Well, man, if it’s up to me. We’re going to go out there and give them a great show,” Roman Reigns said. “We’re going to give them some interaction and creative energy and a vibe that only I can do. The Tribal Chief, only The Bloodline with us, the counsel Paul Heyman. There’s a different buzz, a different energy that is created in that arena when we are presented. So that is obviously what I want to do; that’s always our obligation. And a passion of ours is to go out there and better ourselves and give our fans a performance that they will be able to hold on to for a lifetime. But we got crazy people like Brock running around here trying to decapitate us with forklifts and things like that. So if it’s up to me, I’m gonna keep the struggle to keep order, but I don’t think Brock is going to be doing any of that. So he’s going to get crazy and act like a farm boy would.”
