Montez Ford is a proud, proud husband.
WWE star and one-half of former RAW Tag Team Champions, Street Profits, Montez Ford recently appeared on 100.7 The Star’s Bubba Show. Ford would explain how his wife, former RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair’s main event match at WrestleMania 37 against Sasha Banks inspired him to show out during his match at this year’s WrestleMania.
“Just that moment when she was breaking down, I saw exactly everything that she put in to get to that moment. So, it’s good to see her get so emotional and it was such a huge moment for both of those women. For them to go out there and get to do their thing, it’s a landmark, it’s in the history books and I’m so proud of not just her, but both of those women for what they did. It’s just a blessing not only to just see it, but to be there for it and just embrace all of it, it was motivating. I saw that match, last year and I said if I ever get the chance to do the same thing on the WrestleMania stage, I’m gonna go all the way out like they did and now, this year, I have that chance.”
Ford then named a certain ‘People’s Champion’ when asked about his dream WrestleMania opponent before delving into his fond memory of his very first singles match.
“The Rock,” Ford answered when asked about his dream WrestleMania opponent. “It was in 2016, it was against Biff Busick and it was in, I think, Crystal Lake, Florida. It was the very first singles match I’d ever had, it was at a live event and I just remembered going like ‘wow, this is crazy! This is different!’ Watching it and being a part of it and actually being in the ring is two different worlds. It was just a learning experience for me, like especially not just doing singles but evolving and doing tag team. But I felt like when I did that match, it just elevated me even more, like I was working on a new level. But yeah, that was my very first singles match, man. There was probably maybe 130 people there.”
Ford is set to challenge for the RAW Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 38 alongside Street Profits teammate Angelo Dawkins against champions RK-Bro and Alpha Academy.
