Trey Miguel On IMPACT Wrestlers Not Stepping Through The Forbidden Door: People Don’t F-ck With Us Like That

The wrestling world perpetually buzzes about “The Forbidden Door”, and while IMPACT Wrestling has been working with Ring of Honor and NJPW, among other promotions, Trey Miguel believes the balance of the crossovers is heavily swayed.

Miguel has shared the ring with AAA star Laredo Kid and NJPW veteran Rocky Romero in IMPACT, so he has personally witnessed this spirit of collaboration. But during an appearance on Out of Focus, he pointed out that fans don’t typically see IMPACT stars stepping through “The Forbidden Door” and wrestling in other promotions.

“I think the main thing that makes today’s wrestling so special is how willing companies are to work with each other, you know what I mean, you see AEW popping up in New Japan and New Japan popping up at IMPACT, and you don’t really see IMPACT guys popping up anywhere else,” said Miguel. “People don’t f-ck with us like that. I don’t know [why]. People want to drop in on us, but we don’t get to go nowhere.”

The reigning X Division Champion then stated that he’s unsure why this pattern seems to be the case. He noted that other companies often act like everyone’s invited to their show, but this offer apparently doesn’t apply to IMPACT. He referenced the way IMPACT’s own Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson have competed on AEW TV in the past, but they’re members of a small list who have had the opportunity to do so.

“You’ll see a tweet go out like, ‘Oh yeah anyone’s invited’, but no one who’s invited from IMPACT,” said Miguel. “There’s like a list this big of guys you think, Sami Callihan went there, Moose went there. He went over there just for a single match, and then the Good Brothers but that’s it. But the list is huge from guys that have come in, you know what I mean?”

Regardless of “The Forbidden Door” in the typical sense, IMPACT will collaborate with other companies at its “Multiverse of Matches” event on April 1, which will feature interpromotional matches that include talent from ROH and NJPW.
