Tommaso Ciampa cut an emotional promo on the March 15 episode of WWE NXT 2.0.
The former NXT Champion came to the ring and addressed his future. He looked back on the wild journey his time on the brand has been before he admitted that he didn’t know where to go from here. Fans chanted “Thank you Ciampa” and “Please don’t go” as the veteran questioned how he could get his own fairy-tale ending. Ciampa also noted that he doesn’t know if that would be possible, but he wanted to thank the fans for their support before it was too late. The former champion then received a standing ovation for his remarkable run on NXT.

Tony D’Angelo then ruined the mood by confronting the fan-favorite star. He explained that he respects Ciampa, and he wants to become “the man” by defeating “The Blackheart” at WWE NXT Stand & Deliver. Ciampa accepted the challenge, but D’Angelo proceeded to kick him below the belt and seal the deal with a kiss on the cheek.
