The latest update on Elias.

Elias has been off of WWE television for eight months. He hasn’t been seen in an arena since the July 19 episode of Monday Night Raw when he lost a Symphony of Destruction match to Jaxson Ryker. Following this, vignettes began to run where The Drifter proclaimed, “Elias is dead. Long Live Elias.” The last of these vignettes aired on August 23.

A report later surfaced from @Wrestlevotes stating that a new gimmick was planned for the superstar and it featured a more colorful look akin to Macho Man Randy Savage. You can see images of this look in his profile picture for the WWE 2K22 video game.

Now, a new report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select provides even more of an update on the career of The Drifter.

Concerning the Randy Savage-like attire, Fightful Select reports that Vince McMahon believed he looked too much like Randy Savage and ultimately scrapped that particular gimmick change.

Furthermore, it is reported that vignettes with the star have been filmed and he is tentatively slated to return to Monday Night Raw but that doesn’t mean that anything is set in stone yet. Also, there was a name change that was pitched but no details are yet available.

To date, he has yet to become a champion in WWE but he has been able to release music through the promotion.

We will continue to monitor the career of Elias and report all updates.
