Damian Priest Discusses His Heel Turn: ‘It’s Time To Focus On Myself’ And Regain The US Title

Damian Priest is ready to focus on himself.

Previously, “The Archer of Infamy” was a consummate “good guy”, as he teamed up with others, like Bad Bunny, to assist them in a variety of ways. But since he lost the WWE United States Championship to Finn Balor, Priest shifted gears and changed his approach.

The WWE star recently spoke with Vibe & Wrestling and delved into his heel turn. Priest explained that he’s done helping others achieve their goals; instead, his main mission is to capture his United States Championship. He promised to be “a little meaner” and enjoy himself all the while.

“The idea I had had until now was to help others, as I did with Bad Bunny, Humberto, Sheamus and even with the problems I’ve had with Lashley because of Goldberg’s son,” said Priest. “And I think it’s time to focus on myself and that is the change, what happens is that not everyone liked that and now I’m focused on my career and there were fans who changed their opinion of me. They considered me a ‘guardian angel’, and now that has been broken and I am going to be a little different, a little rougher, a little meaner, and I am going to enjoy it.”

Priest attacked Balor last week on WWE RAW; in doing so, he made it clear that he intends to get a rematch for the title sooner rather than later.
