Charlotte Flair Tried To Control Ric Flair Speaking Publicly About Her Career, But Won’t Fight That Battle Anymore

Sometimes you’re fighting a losing battle, and Charlotte Flair is finding that out when it comes to her father, Ric Flair, discussing her career in the media.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair recently appeared on Hot 97 and explained how no matter how hard she tries, she can’t control what her father and WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has to say. Ric has been vocal in his support of his daughter over the years (and has even interjected himself in her business with Becky Lynch recently), and Charlotte says she tried to control that for some time but realized why she can’t win that fight.

“My dad’s a lot more vocal. I’ve tried to control that and I realize that I can’t, so whether my dad is my biggest cheerleader [or not], he’s gonna say what he wants to say and I can’t persuade him to be any other way,” Charlotte explained. “He thinks he’s doing right by me and my dad would do anything in the world for me and he loves me and my career means everything to him. So, I’m gonna try and not fight that battle anymore.”

Charlotte went on to explain that she knows Ric will always go to bat for her just like any other parent would for their child. She closed by saying she doesn’t really need to be as protected as he might believe, but she’ll always be his little girl.

Charlotte is set to defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey during night one of WrestleMania 38 on April 2.
