Wendy Choo and Dakota Kai didn’t hit the snooze button during their first bout in the Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
On the March 1 episode of WWE NXT 2.0, The unlikely duo defeated Persia Pirotta and Indi Hartwell to advance to the semi-finals of the tournament, as Choo and Kai showed plenty of chemistry against the established team. The latter duo wasn’t on the same page, as Pirotta seemed distracted by her crush on Duke Hudson. With their opponents off their “A” game, Choo and Kai capitalized and scored the win after hitting a double top rope stomp.

Kai’s former friend in Raquel Gonzalez also advanced in the tournament, as she and Cora Jade took on a very game duo in Yulisa Leon and Valenti Feroz. Despite the latter not getting an on-air entrance, the two got to show their stuff against Gonzalez and Jade.
