Lita Would Love To Compete In Another Steel Cage Match, Says She And Victoria Were ‘Shackled’ The First Time

All you need sometimes is a little bit of freedom.

WWE Hall of Famer Lita recently spoke with Metro UK and delved into she and Victoria having ‘shackles’ on during their historic first women’s steel cage match in 2003. Lita says she’d love to revisit the stipulation in a match today, then spoke about the restrictions she faced the first time.

“Victoria and I had the first women’s Steel Cage Match. But we were shackled. ‘OK, you can have a Steel Cage Match, but you can’t go off the top, you can’t do this’. They were really like, ‘Basically, you can have a match and there’s gonna be a steel cage around you.’

“To be able to be a part of these – a TLC match, a Steel Cage Match. Something like that where the women now are not having just ‘the women’s version’. It’s just a Steel Cage match, it’s just a TLC match.”

Lita then spoke about some of the talent she’d like to face off with today, including another crack at current SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.

“I had fun being in there with Shotzi, I think that would be cool to do something again. I was really impressed with Rhea Ripley, I’d love to so something with her. Of course, pick up where I left off with Charlotte Flair.”
