Austin And Colten Gunn Look Back On The Origin Of ‘The Ass Boys’, Want Credit For Danhausen’s AEW Contract

Austin and Colten Gunn, also known as “The Ass Boys“, are still waiting on a “thank you” from Danhausen.

The fan-favorite star recently signed with AEW after he became a social media sensation; though he was already a popular member of the wrestling world, Danhausen particularly went viral due to his online feud with the young Gunns or as he calls them, “The Ass Boys.” Many fans were thrilled to see “The Very Nice, Very Evil One” land in AEW, but Austin and Colten want credit.

During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, the duo discussed the origin of “The Ass Boys” name and stated that it came as a result of their

“We were on a cruise, and we decided to help Danhausen once again with the comedy show,” said Austin. “He doesn’t do comedy. ‘Who’s gonna host this thing? Who do we need? We need the two most charismatic people in the biz, Colten and Austin Gunn.’

“We’re like, we’ll help you. So we get on stage and sure enough, he goes, ‘Where’s Billy [Ass]? And I was like, ‘That’s not my dad’s name. It’s ‘Badass’ Billy Gunn. And he goes no, it’s, ‘Billy Ass and the Ass Boys.’ That’s the only time I’ll say it. And everybody went bonkers in the whole comedy show. And ever since then, he hasn’t shut up about it.”

Colten then shared his belief that he and his brother were responsible for making Danhausen’s comedy show good before Austin linked the latter’s surging popularity to the brothers. To drive the point home, Colten stated that he and Austin are the reason Danhausen as a contract with AEW.

“…Like you just said, now he has a contract with AEW, because of us,” said Colten. “Because we were nice enough to help him with that comedy show on the cruise, and now he has a contract. It’s crazy.”

Austin went on to point out that Danhausen has not thanked him for this kindness, and Colten similarly said that he hasn’t received one either.

Time will tell how Danhausen’s feud with The Gunn Club will continue to unfold from here on out.
