Rob Van Dam Names Ricochet As Potential Dream Opponent If He Ever Returned To WWE

Rob Van Dam has an interesting name in mind that he’d like to face should he ever return to WWE.

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam recently spoke with Sportskeeda and named Ricochet as his dream match if should he ever return to the company.

“I think I’d like to wrestle Ricochet. I think that’d be pretty good. I’m sure he was inspired by watching me and he took the gymnastics to a different level. He’s impressive to watch. In a world where, like I said, it’s hard to stand out now, by doing moves because there’s so much that’s done…people are doing springboard gators to the floor during the second match of the card.

“It’s almost like you don’t remember a few minutes later because it’s done so much. But having said that, I think that Ricochet does stand out. I think that people expect a little bit more from him than other people and I think that he helped raise the bar also to where it is now by being one of these new guys that did use that influence and that motivation to pursue their own style.”

Rob Van Dam last competed in WWE in 2014 before being inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame in 2021, and he hasn’t competed regularly since finishing up with IMPACT Wrestling in September 2020. Since then, he’s competed in two matches, including a September 2021 tag team match with Bully Ray against The Hardy Family Office (Marq Quen & Matt Hardy) at Battleground Championship Wrestling in Philadelphia.

As far as returning for one more match in a WWE ring, Van Dam recently appeared on WWE After The Bell with Corey Graves and said that the odds of that happening are “just as good odds going for it as going against it.”
