Brandi Rhodes is an influential figure in All Elite Wrestling. Behind the scenes, she’s the company’s Chief Brand Officer, and on TV, she has been featured in several ropes, from the leader of the Nightmare Collective to Cody Rhodes’ wife and, more recently, Dan Lambert’s bitter rival. But Brandi recently returned to the ring, and she has her sights set on winning some gold.
In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Brandi discussed her in-ring return and explained that giving her daughter a personal example of someone who chased their dreams was an important factor in her comeback.
“I want to set an example to my daughter that you should always strive for your goals,” Brandi said. “I wanted to get right back into the workforce and keep my passions, the ones that keep my soul and my heart happy. As my daughter grows, I hope she sees her mother as hard-working and happy, and I hope that makes her want to pursue her own passions.”
Getting back in action and wrestling isn’t enough of a milestone for the CBO. Instead, her work ethic continues pushing her to reach higher and further, and Brandi’s ultimate goal is to genuinely earn a shot at a title in AEW.
“I like to continue to evolve,” Brandi said. “I was just having this conversation with my husband, and I told him I don’t think I’m ever going to reach a point where I’m not striving for more. I am very driven, and I’ve always been. That was instilled in me by my parents, and that’s who I am.
“There is a lot more I’m seeking to accomplish. I have been in the wrestling business for about 10 years, and I’ve never held a championship. I don’t want it handed to me. I want to earn it, and I’m putting in the work to do that.”
Time will tell what the future holds for Brandi Rhodes’ wrestling career, but for now, she remains a prominent part of AEW programming.
