Ronda Rousey will challenge Charlotte Flair for the WWE SmackDown’s Women Championship at WrestleMania 38.
The announcement was made at the end of the February 4 episode of Friday Night Smackdown. At first, WWE official Sonya Deville informed “The Queen” that Rousey, who won the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match, decided to face RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch instead. But when Flair started to insult Rousey and criticize her choice, “The Baddest Woman on the Planet” came to the ring. After a heated confrontation, she told Flair that she’d see “The Queen” at WrestleMania 38.
Rousey then made an example out of Deville by trapping the WWE official in an armbreaker to close the show.

This looming WrestleMania bout will be a partial rematch from 2019, when Lynch, Flair, and Rousey clashed in the historic main event of WrestleMania 35. Lynch won this contest and walked away with both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Before Flair gets to face Rousey, however, she’ll have to defend the title against Naomi on next week’s episode of SmackDown. That match was also made official on Friday night.
