Will Killer Kross become “All Elite” in 2022?
The two-time NXT Champion is one of the most buzzworthy free agents on the open market, following his WWE release on November 4. He’s been waiting out his non-compete clause, but “The Herald of Doomsday” is now gearing up to start the next chapter of his career.
Kross recently spoke to Shakiel Mahjouri of CBS Sports to discuss his WWE run and what he might be doing next. When asked about the possibility of signing with All Elite Wrestling this year, Kross stated that he believes that he would be a good fit for the company. He compared the way he could bring something different to AEW to the way he felt before he first signed with WWE. Kross explained why he sees a clear spot for him, as he can provide a character that is unlike any other that is currently featured on AEW programming.
“For me, I feel like the fit would be just as identically good before I signed with WWE as it would be now because I am always looking to integrate and create things that are not present within the programming,” Kross said. “I don’t say that in a derogatory way. I just mean that typically how I approach things is: I look at what’s on the show, I look at how everyone is introducing ideas and concepts into the program, and I go, ‘What’s something that I can do that no one else is doing.’
“I think that’s the best way to improve a show. Every single person that is part of a show should be attempting to contribute something from their individual standpoint to improve the entire show. So, there are things that haven’t been done yet or haven’t been done at all or I don’t think will be done that I can do. On that front, it looks very good to me.”
Killer Kross’ 90-day non-compete with WWE expired on Wednesday and he is now free and clear to sign with All Elite Wrestling or anywhere else. For now, fans will just have to wait and see what his future holds.
