Christian Cage made his miraculous return to the ring just over a year ago yesterday.
At WWE Royal Rumble 2021, “Captain Charisma” officially wrestled for the first time since he was forced to retire in 2014. In this bout, he had an emotional reunion with his best friend, Edge, but it didn’t kick off his WWE comeback the way many fans had been hoping to see. Instead, he went on to sign with All Elite Wrestling, and he eventually won the IMPACT World Championship on the debut episode of AEW Rampage. Cage then main-evented AEW All Out against the AEW World Champion, Kenny Omega. All in all, 2021 was an incredible year for the WWE Hall of Famer.
In a tweet, Cage recognized the anniversary of his return and called 2021 a “wild” run. He then stated that AEW is his home for the rest of his career, and he wants “everything” in 2022.
Cage’s tweet is as follows:
“1 yr ago today I took my career back. Man, 2021 was wild, I was involved in 3 PPV main events for 3 different companies & had some special moments. That being said, @AEW is my home for the rest of my career. So what do I want in 2022? The world, Chico, and everything in it.”
