Report: Details About Ronda Rousey’s WWE Return, WrestleMania Plans

Ronda Rousey made her triumphant return at WWE Royal Rumble on Saturday. She won the 30-woman battle royal and earned the opportunity to challenge for the title of her choice at WWE WrestleMania 38.

Even before “The Baddest Woman on the Planet” officially came back, many fans assumed she’d face Becky Lynch in her first major match. The two women have unfinished business, as Lynch won the WWE RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 35 in a triple threat match that also included Charlotte Flair. Prior to WWE Royal Rumble 2022, Rousey had been absent since this loss. But a new report suggests that the company has different plans for the former champion.

During a new episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Rousey will be an active member of the roster moving forward. Meltzer noted that her Royal Rumble win was always the plan as soon as she agreed to come. He also stated that WWE currently plans to have Rousey face Flair, who currently holds the SmackDown Women’s Championship, at WrestleMania 38 before she finally faces “Big Time Becks” at WrestleMania 39.
