Johnny Knoxville Explains How His WWE Royal Rumble Appearance Was Pitched To Him

Johnny Knoxville says sometimes it’s as simple as just being asked.

Comedic legend Johnny Knoxville was a surprise name to be announced for this weekend’s WWE Men’s Royal Rumble match and he explained how the appearance came together when appearing on The Howard Stern Show.

“We we’re doing a promotion backstage at WWE and their head writer took me out in the hall and he asked me ‘hey, do you wanna make a run for the Rumble?’ and I was like ‘yeah! what do you mean?’ and he said ‘the Royal Rumble!’ and I was like ‘oh yeah! For sure!’ Since then, I’ve been training 24/7 Howard, I’ve been flipping huge truck tired over the fence and the neighbors are so angry, those tires weigh the same as that pretty boy Austin Theory.”

Knoxville then briefly touched on who some of his favorite wrestlers were while growing up.

“Man, I would say probably, I loved Abdullah The Butcher, Gorilla Monsoon was a hell of a wrestler.”

Knoxville is also set to take appear in Jackass Forever, which is in theaters on February 4, 2022. Read more about Knoxville’s training regimen, which included upsetting his neighbors with the aforementioned truck tires, at this link.
