The first round of the Academic Challenge between the Alpha Academy and RK-Bro took place during tonight’s episode of WWE RAW and saw both tag teams take part in a spelling bee before a match broke out.
During the challenge, Otis went first, and he got credit for correctly spelling his word though he missed a letter. Riddle then struggled to get his word right but he also scored the point. Gable went next, but he actually got his word wrong, leading to Orton getting his final word — “dumbbell” — correct and giving RK-Bro the first-round victory.
After the match, Orton challenged Gable to a match on the spot, and ended up defeating him in a hard-fought contest by spelling three more letters, “RKO.” RK-Bro then picked the stipulation for the second round — the two teams will compete in a scooter race next week.

Gable and Orton trade suplexes on the announce desk. Orton eventually lands a hangman’s DDT. Orton calls for the RKO. Otis tries to get in the ring but Riddle cuts him off. Otis suplexes Riddle out on the floor. Gable avoids the RKO and traps Orton in a backslide for a near fall. Orton tries a punt but Gable reverses it into an ankle lock. Outside the ring, Riddle hits Otis with his scooter. Orton escapes the ankle lock and obliterates Gable with an RKO for the win.
