Paul Heyman On Brock Lesnar’s New Character: ‘Thank God’ He Started Talking, My Throat Was Getting Tired

Paul Heyman is glad Brock Lesnar is cutting more promos now.

For years, Lesnar’s ‘Advocate” has spoken for “The Beast Incarnate”, as Lesnar often remained practically silent on WWE TV. But during the new chapter of the reigning WWE Champion’s career, he has demonstrated plenty of growth, as he has impressed many fans with his promo abilities and his comedic timing.

During a recent appearance on Casio’s Cut, when asked about Lesnar’s progression, Heyman expressed his relief for the fact that his client is speaking for himself now.

“Thank god,” said Heyman. “My throat was getting sore espousing the virtues of ‘The Beast’, ‘The Conqueror’, the reigning, defending undisputed WWE Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. So thank god he decided to pick up a microphone and do some talking. I’m tired of talking about him.”

Heyman and Lesnar are currently focused on WWE Royal Rumble, where “The Beast Incarnate” will defend his title against Bobby Lashley in a dream match. The parallels between the two powerhouses are striking, given their success in both WWE and MMA. With this in mind, Heyman praised “The All Mighty”, but he made it clear that Lesnar is an entirely different breed.

“They have some very, very interesting similarities between the two,” said Heyman. “They were both amateur wrestlers, they both came to WWE with the highest amount of anticipation. They both transitioned from WWE to mixed martial arts and then they both came back to WWE. The difference is, one is Bobby Lashley who is, in any other generation, the single most dominant athlete in World Wrestling Entertainment.

“Problem for Bobby Lashley is, he’s up against Brock Lesnar. And Brock Lesnar is not just of a different caliber athlete, not just a different caliber of a performer. But Brock Lesnar is not even our species. And Bobby Lashley’s going to learn that the hard way at the Royal Rumble.”

For now, fans will just have to wait and see what happens when Lesnar and Lashley wage war at the premium live event on January 29.
