Serena Deeb Explains Why Her WWE Releases Are Two Of The Best Things That Have Ever Happened To Her

Serena Deeb is at peace over her time in WWE and is very happy to be part of All Elite Wrestling.

Ahead of AEW Dynamite returning to her hometown of Washington DC, Serena Deeb sat down with Chris Kelly of The Washington Post to discuss a variety of subjects. When asked about being released from WWE twice, Deeb believes it’s the best thing that has ever happened to her.

“Honestly, I consider both of my releases from WWE two of the best things that have ever happened to me,” Serena Deeb said. “It was a devastating call, but I had this sense of relief. That chapter had to close because I was heading in a really bad direction.”

The second time WWE came calling, it wasn’t for her to be a WWE Superstar, but a trainer at the Performance Center instead. A job that she took to make peace with herself from the last time she was part of the company.

“The caveat was, if you take this job, you have to be at peace with not wrestling. You’re out of the ring — there are no coach-players here,” Serena Deeb said. “It was a great opportunity, and for me, it was like making peace with WWE, as well.”

Following her second release, Deeb found herself in All Elite Wrestling where she is both a talent and a coach and it sounds like she couldn’t be happier about being part of that roster.

“A lot of us say this to each other every week, we literally work at the best company in the world,” Serena Deeb said. “You never feel like, ‘I can’t go to anybody.’ There are other companies where that feeling is overwhelming.”
