Round one of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic took place during tonight’s episode of NXT, and two teams have already moved forward.
In the first matchup of the night, The Creed Brothers took care of things by taking down the duo of Briggs and Jensen in a quick match. Things came to an end after Julius and Brutus combined to hit a modified Wasteland on them for the finish.
Later in the night, Edris Enofé and Malik Blade teamed up to take down Legado Del Fantasma, taking down the pair in shocking fashion after Bron Breakker came down to the ringside to interfere by pulling Escobar off the apron. In the chaos, Blade quickly rolled up Wilde for the win.
With the wins, the two teams advance to the respective next rounds of the tournament. For The Creed Brothers, they’ll take on the winners of the Grizzled Young Veterans and Andre Chase & Bodhi Hayward. For Malik Blade and Edris Enofé, they’ll await the winner of Jacket Time and MSK.
