Taya Valkyrie Wants To Wrestle Everywhere In 2022, Pitches Mixed Tag Bout Against Top AEW Stars

Taya Valkyrie, one of the most renowned competitors in women’s wrestling, signed with WWE in February 2021, but the company released her in November, ending her time with the company before it ever had a genuine chance to take off.

In an interview with Muscle Man Malcolm, Valkyrie explained that she’s excited to prove her doubters wrong and her fans right in this next chapter of her career. She noted that she fully intends to make 2022 a special year.

“I always work the best under pressure, and I know that I’m under the microscope now, and I can’t wait to prove all my naysayers wrong and just feel the love from all the ones that do support me and who have continued to support me through my 12-year career through different companies,” said Valkyrie. “And let’s make some more magic this year, and let’s make it count.”

Looking forward to the year ahead, Valkyrie made it clear that she wants to “wrestle everywhere” and face off against any number of the many talented independent wrestlers who are out there. She also expressed her interest in traveling with her husband, John Morrison as part of this journey.

“I just wanna travel and wrestle absolutely everywhere,” said Valkyrie. “There are so many wonderful independent wrestlers that were not where they are now, and the indies are hot, popping, lit, so there’s a lot of you out there that I wanna wrestle. I wanna wrestle a lot of women, a lot of men. I wanna be able to travel with John again, and do our mixed tags that we used to do. Win championships.

“I don’t know where we’ll end up on television or what’s happening. But just know that I’m doing this with my whole heart and everything that’s meant to happen will happen. So we will see. This year’s gonna be a big year.”

When asked to name a duo she’d like to face in a mixed tag bout alongside Morrison, Valkyrie pointed to AEW stars Adam Cole and Britt Baker because they’d be a fresh match-up.

“Britt Baker and Adam Cole,” said Valkyrie. “We’ve never, I’ve wrestled Britt one time in like a multi-man at Warrior Wrestling in 2019. I don’t think John and Adam Cole have ever wrestled. I don’t think so. So there you go, why not?”

Valkyrie has already hit the ground running as a free agent; she has returned to the ring, and she’s advertised for more bouts in the near future, such as Prestige Wrestling’s “Roseland 2” show on February 20, 2022.
