Britt Baker On CM Punk’s ‘Pillar’ Comment: ‘Where’s The Lie? It’s A Fact’

CM Punk generated some buzz when he called AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker one of the pillars of the company. As far as AEW’s resident dentist is concerned, “The Second City Saint” was speaking the truth, plain and simple.

During an appearance on Rasslin’ with Brandon F. Walker, when asked about Punk’s comment, Baker agreed with it.

“Where’s the lie? It’s a fact,” said Baker.

Punk wasn’t the only AEW star who brought Baker up in a promo; MJF also made some controversial remarks about her. Seeing how several of her peers keep talking about her, Baker noted that they’re just doing what’s best for business.

“It’s smart, it’s good business,” said Baker. “I’m the hottest thing in women’s wrestling,” said Baker. “You want the smoke to come out of your mouth on the mic, keep my name in your mouth.”

The self-proclaimed role model won the title at AEW Double or Nothing 2021, and there’s no end in sight. When Walker asked her how long she’ll hold the title, Baker predicted that the gold will remain around her waist until she retires  if she wants to keep it that long.

“Probably until I retire,” said Baker. “If I want to, I can [do it]. Maybe I don’t want to [laughs].”

Speaking of her title reign, the champion noted that she has already defeated plenty of AEW’s top women’s wrestlers, so she’d like to start an open challenge to bring in some more competition.

“I think an open challenge would be really fun,” said Baker. “There are a lot of free agent women right now that I would love to wrestle, and I think an open challenge would be great.”

Time will tell what the future holds for Baker’s reign, but for now, it seems like she has a solid grip on the gold.
