Amy Rose: Rok-C And Miranda Alize Had One Of 2021’s Best Bouts, ‘It Was A Proud Moment’

Amy Rose Previews ROH Women's Division Documentary, Reflects On Title Tournament

Amy Rose doesn’t just think Rok-C and Miranda Alize stole the show when they faced off at Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor 2021; she believes they had one of the best matches of 2021.

In this high-profile bout, “The Prodigy” defeated Alize in the finals of the ROH Women’s Championship Tournament; this triumph marked the initial culmination of ROH’s mission to rebuild its women’s division in 2021, a process that will be chronicled in a new documentary that will premiere this weekend on ROH Wrestling.

In an interview with WrestleZone, Rose looked back on Rok-C’s clash with Alize and explained why she was so proud of both competitors. She noted that she “absolutely loved” the contest because both women threw everything they had into the match. Rose also emphasized that she’s proud of the progress the women’s division as a whole made throughout 2021.

“…I wanna go ahead and say, I’m sure I’ve said it before, but Miranda Alize and Rok-C had my favorite match of the year when they went for the Ring of Honor Women’s Championship,” said Alize. “I just felt that they gave everything that they had, you know. It was a proud moment and I really felt that, at that moment, okay, I can see why we chose them to get to where they are. They fought hard for this, and when they went out there, they had one of the best matches, like I said, of the entire year. I was absolutely stunned.

“…I was going crazy, like I absolutely loved it. And I’m very proud of all the hard work that everyone in this division has done, and I’m very proud in general of how far our women’s division has come.”

When asked about Rok-C, Rose complimented “The Prodigy” and expressed her belief that she’ll be “the future of wrestling.” She elaborated on this claim by explaining that, at just 20 years old, Rok-C has limitless potential.

“I think that she’s an incredible wrestler, and she’s so young,” said Rose. “I really think that she will be the future of wrestling. You know, she has the opportunity to do this for a very long time, and she had a hell of a start, and she’s been working hard to even get there. But it’s been great to see her as champion, and who knows what’s gonna happen in the future, but I am very proud of her reign. I think that the sky is the limit for her.”

The interview was recorded before Rok-C’s Title vs. Title match with Deonna Purrazzo aired on TV, but former ROH stars Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, PCO and Vincent, alongside Maria Kanellis-Bennett, had already popped up at IMPACT Wrestling Hard To Kill. Likewise, WrestleZone spoke to Rose just a few days after Jonathan Gresham retained the ROH World Championship against Chris Sabin at the pay-per-view. When asked about this crossover, Rose also highlighted Rok-C’s defenses of her title at other promotions and pointed out that the documentary will offer fans a look at what made this prominence possible.

“It’s exciting to see like Rok-C and our women’s division, they’re also being represented there at IMPACT,” said Rose. “And she’s also been having title promotions at other promotions, and I think that this documentary will actually show a big part of how we got there.”

ROH ring announcer Bobby Cruise was a vital part of the women’s division’s rise in 2021. He looked back on this chapter in an interview with WrestleZone.
