The stories that are told in tales, books and professional wrestling are all one-in-the-same, according to Shayna Baszler.
WWE SmackDown star Shayna Baszler recently spoke with Metro UK and discussed how she draws parallels in the stories that are told in wrestling to the stories that are told in the UK-based action story and game Warhammer.
“How can I make this story in a wrestling sense? I always try to think about that too. I have friends who watch Marvel movies like, ‘How can we make this a cool wrestling story?’ For me, there’s so much lore in something like Warhammer – Star Wars, I’m into. So when I look at things like that – I started reading those things when I was younger, but now I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, so if I did this…’”
Baszler would then say ‘Warhammer‘ has a big influence on some of her gear but that goes unnoticed by a lot of the U.S. based fans as the brand isn’t as big in the states as it is overseas.
“That’s a thing I’ve had a lot of fun with. Recently, I’ve done the Warhammer gear – and Warhammer’s not super popular in the US, it’s a very niche thing, whereas a lot of UK fans recognize it. It’s fun because – not only just creatively, thinking, ‘How can I make a set of wrestling gear that is recognizable’, you don’t wanna straight-up copy – but it’s recognizable. That’s been a fun outlet. It’s very cool to think like that,” she said. “I think having that sorta thing that you’re into keeps your juices flowing.”
