Corey Graves Reportedly Cleared To Compete For WWE

Corey Graves has reportedly been medically cleared by WWE and is no longer on the company’s “no-contact” list.

According to a new report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Corey Graves was cleared by WWE doctors “at some point in 2021.” This would explain why Graves was briefly able to win the WWE 24/7 Championship back in November on an episode of RAW.

Sapp also reports that there have been several pitches related to a potential return for Graves, but “none made it through” the creative process. While Sapp was able to confirm the news that Graves is no longer on the “no contact” list, it was noted that both WWE and Graves “both responded but would not confirm or deny any parts” of the story.

Corey Graves wrestled his last match for WWE on the NXT brand back in 2014. His most notable achievement was being one-half of the NXT Tag Team Champions with PAC (FKA Neville).

In 2020, it was revealed that Graves resumed in-ring training for the first time in five years, as his brother, Sam Adonis, shared footage of the two running some drills in the ring. That same year, Graves credited Edge’s return as inspiration for himself, noting that he wasn’t sure if it was possible but seeing a success like that gave him hope.

“Watching it, honestly, man it was inspiring. I would say at two or three different points I went, ‘Man, I live in Pittsburgh now, I should go find Dr. Maroon.’ It just gave me that urge to do all this all over again,” he said on After The Bell, “and I don’t know whether or not that’s a possibility, but the thought was planted in my brain for quite some time.”
