John Cena Unsure He Makes It To WrestleMania 38, But He’s ‘Not Done With WWE By A Long Shot’

John Cena says he’ll still be back in WWE, regardless of if he’s at WrestleMania 38 this year.

John Cena was a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week and he was asked about his status with the company. Cena, who stars in HBO Max’s Peacemaker, said that he has some things in the works that might not allow him to return for the “Show of Shows” but that doesn’t mean he’s done in WWE at all.

“So, WrestleMania is usually in the cusp of late March, early April. I don’t know if I’m going to make it this year and that’s a good conundrum to have,” Cena said, “because there’s a lot of good opportunity coming up, which I would love to take. And if all those things line up, I don’t know if I’ll be able to make WrestleMania, but I will tell you and everybody out there watching, I’m not done with WWE by a long shot.

“That’s my home,” Cena stated. “I love it. I was able to go back during the summer for a few months and entertain audiences when they welcomed audiences back to arenas. So, I’ve far from had my last performance.”

Cena returned to WWE in the summer of 2021 for a program with Roman Reigns. The “Summer Of Cena” was capped off with a match with Reigns at SummerSlam. Cena competed in 16 matches during his return in 2021, nearly all of them being six-man tag team matches on live events where he teamed with Dominik and Rey Mysterio against Reigns and The Usos.

Peacemaker premieres on HBO Max on January 13.
