Cody Rhodes Pulled From AEW Battle Of The Belts, Interim TNT Title Bout Added To The Show

AEW TNT Champion Cody Rhodes has been pulled from the AEW Battle of the Belts card, so he will be unable to defend his title against Sammy Guevara at the show. Instead, Cody’s brother, Dustin will take his place and defend the interim TNT Championship against “The Spanish God” on Saturday night.

The company announced the news on the January 7 episode of AEW Rampage by stating that Cody isn’t medically cleared to compete.  Due to the absence of “The American Nightmare”, Dustin will take his brother’s place in a match that is now for the AEW Interim TNT Championship. It’s currently unclear how long Cody will be out.
