The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns has defeated COVID-19 and will be returning to WWE SmackDown on Friday.
TMZ Sports was the first to report the news that WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has tested negative for COVID-19 and is scheduled to appear tomorrow night on SmackDown to go face to face with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.
WWE echoed TMZ’s report on social media issuing their own confirmation minutes later:
“BREAKING: @WWERomanReigns has been medically cleared and is set to return at tomorrow’s Friday Night #SmackDown. What will @BrockLesnar have in store for their explosive confrontation?” WWE tweeted.
Roman Reigns was initially scheduled to defend the WWE Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar at Day 1. However, Reigns tested positive for COVID-19 on the day of the show, which caused the entire structure of the Premium Live Event to be altered to the point where Lesnar was added to the WWE Championship match, making it a fatal five-way. A match that Lesnar would go on to win and claim the top prize on WWE RAW.
Lesnar’s ability as a free agent will allow him to travel back and forth between both brands, which will allow him to continue his rivalry with Reigns as we head down the road to WrestleMania.
