The veteran, Mercedes Martinez, is ready to put in the work.

Mercedes Martinez returned to AEW and help Jade Cargill win her spot in the TBS Title Tournament Finals. Mercedes was briefly in WWE as part of RETRIBUTION and the Robert Stone Brand. After her WWE release, she took her talents to IMPACT Wrestling, and even though she was featured in championship matches and treated like a top star, she has now officially signed with AEW.

Reacting to the signing on Twitter, Martinez says she is thankful to the fans that have supported her through the years and promises that her potential has only begun to be unleashed.

The hustle/grind never stops! Blessed, humbled & READY to be UNLEASHED! Thank u TonyKhan AEW. To everyone that believes in me & what I can bring to wrestling. Cheer, boo, hate, love me…but RESPECT ME & what I continue to bring to this business.

Mercedes previously mentioned keeping her options open while she was with IMPACT Wrestling. IMPACT and AEW previously had a working relationship that seems to have concluded at Bound for Glory 2021. However, the Forbidden Door is still open. Mercedes also stated in recent months that she believes it is up to the performers to decide when it is time to hang up the boots.
