10-Man Tag Set For 12/29 AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan Teases One More Surprise

Just a few hours ahead of the final AEW Dynamite of 2021, Tony Khan is generating even more buzz for what was already set to be an exciting show.

In a tweet, the AEW President/General Manager hyped up the updated card for the show and teased that he “may have” one more surprise to close out 2021, a year in which AEW has delivered several stunners. Let the speculation commence.

The lineup for Wednesday includes the late addition of a star-studded ten-man tag team match. The Lucha Brothers, the reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions, will join forces with Christian Cage and Jurassic Express to face Matt Hardy, Private Party and FTR. Jurassic Express is the top-ranked tag team in AEW, so if this bout was happening elsewhere, one might ask that most dreaded question, “Can they coexist?”

Either way, this bout is one of three mutli-man tag team contests that AEW will offer on Wednesday; Eddie Kingston and Santana & Ortiz will face 2point0 and their “son”, Daniel Garcia; plus, the reunited Undisputed Era trio of Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly will take on Orange Cassidy and the Best Friends. Elsewhere, in the second of two semifinal matches in the TBS Women’s Championship Tournament, Thunder Rosa will face Jade Cargill.

Finally, Jim Ross will be back at the broadcast booth after he missed several weeks due to his battle with cancer; JR announced that he “beat cancer’s ass” earlier in the day on Wednesday.

As always, WrestleZone will have full coverage of AEW Dynamite on Wednesday night.
