EC3 Has More Important Concerns Than Partying For New Year’s, Would Have Done His Best ‘Bruce Wayne’ In The Past

On New Year’s Eve, EC3 won’t be partying or ringing in the new year with any debauchery; “The Essential Character” is above that. But if he could step into a time machine, he’d be living it up with the best of them.

On a recent episode of ROHStrongwhen asked whether he’ll be attending ROH star Flip Gordon’s [storyline] New Year’s Eve party, EC3 made it clear that with his focus on controlling his narratives, he has no desire to partake in the traditional activities of the special evening, which often include kissing at midnight and drinking excessively.

“Well I certainly won’t be attending his party, for ‘The Essential Character’ no longer dabbles in the lifestyle of the mundane,” said EC3. “You know, the hackless tormenting of torturing my body with alcohol and fake superstitions and you know, the, ugh, I’ll just say it, kissing girls at midnight and stuff like that. I’ve far deeper, far more meaningful ventures to construe, especially going into the new year….”

That being said, because Gordon, who has been suffering from amnesia on ROH programming, thinks it’s currently 2018, EC3 admitted that the past version of himself would have partied harder than anyone else to ring in the new year. Harkening back to his 2018 persona as “The Top One Percent,” a character who flaunted his wealth at every turn, EC3 noted that he would have gladly done his best Bruce Wayne impression at a New Year’s Eve party. He also shared a tradition for the holiday that his mother taught him.

“Perhaps if I had a time machine, and it was 2018, I could slip over to Flip’s party,” said EC3. “I probably would have attended, the ‘Top One Percent’ would have showed up…doing his best Bruce Wayne, two girls on each arm, probably jumping into the fountain, smooching, kissing, [expletive] and [expletive] that, whatever, you know. Rocking and rolling, strutting and strolling, making things happen, life of the party, up ‘til 5 a.m.

“But there’s one tradition that I will never, never disregard on New Year’s Eve. My mother gave me this tradition, and that is to hold a dollar in your hand as the clock strikes midnight, for it will guarantee you financial success in the next year.”

Whether you’ll lean toward EC3’s “Essential Character” mindset or opt to party hard like “The Top One Percent”, Happy New Year.
