Ric Flair Thinks Bryan Danielson Is ‘Very Good,’ But No Kenny Omega Or AJ Styles

Ric Flair had some “very good” praise for Bryan Danielson, but doesn’t think he’s on the level of other top stars in wrestling today.

The Nature Boy certainly had to have riled up a good deal of wrestling fans on the latest episode of Wooooo Nation UNCENSORED with Mark Madden as he praised The American Dragon for his unbelievable work in the ring, but didn’t necessarily consider him a top star in the business.

“He’s okay,” Flair simply said, which prompted Madden to say that Ric likely just pissed a lot of fans off by saying that. Flair remained adament in his opinion, stating that it was Danielson’s big WrestleMania moment with Triple H that helped to establish who he is today.

“I tell you what – this is how I feel. When Hunter put him over at WrestleMania [30] that made him and he’s a very talented kid, don’t misunderstand me, but you have to have one match, one place, one day somewhere that makes you who you are.”

He’s a helluva performer. I don’t see him as being Kenny Omega,” Flair said before asking if Danielson was currently a heel or babyface. Madden said he was a heel (and later praised Bryan for his work in that role).

“As a babyface he’s not Ricky Steamboat, as a heel he’s not me,” Flair added.

“[Triple H & Danielson] tore the joint down, but that is the night that made Bryan. I like him a lot personally, but when you start asking me to talk about who’s great and who’s not,” Flair continued. “He’s not AJ Styles by any means.” Madden asked Ric what in specific he does like about Danielson’s work.

“I like his conditioning, the fact that he works hard, he’ll do anything. He’ll sacrifice his body at all odds. I mean he throws himself around and takes some incredible bumps.

“He’s a helluva hand, but you’re asking me once again, and I’m not going to budge on who I think is good and who is great, and I think he’s very good.” Flair said before saying he likes Danielson better as a babyface because he’s fighting from underneath. Madden asks Ric what kind of match could he have had with Danielson in his prime?

“Phenomenal, if he’s a babyface. I couldn’t do half the shit that he can do, but I could take the shit that he could give me.”
