Trent had quite the battle with sleep apnea prior to his neck fusion surgery, but he’s still not sure when he’ll return to the ring.
AEW star Trent, alongside ‘Best Friends’ stablemates Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy recently appeared on Rasslin’ with Brandon Walker of Barstool Sports and he’d delve into his recovery following neck fusion surgery and while he hopes to return soon, he’s not rushing to put a timetable on it.
“I’ve just got to wait for my bones to grow together. They put the plate they put the plates in and they take the discs out and then in between they put, he said, it’s like a crushed coral. I don’t understand why it’s not just floating around. Then the bone grows into where the crushed coral is. I think it’s like a little disc thing with the coral in it.”
Trent would then detail his battle with sleep apnea prior to the aforementioned surgery, explaining how the issue went away after he had surgery.
“I had to get my neck fused. I had so much extra bone growth and my discs were crushed and my bones were starting to fuse themselves together. I was getting sleep apnea. I was waking up gasping for air in the middle of the night and sometimes, I’d have trouble swallowing my own spit and I just thought it was nothing, but post-surgery, I guess I had so many extra bones and sh-t growing in my throat that my sleep apnea was gone.”
Trent’s ‘Best Friends’ compadre, Chuck Taylor and fellow CHAOS member Rocky Romero will take on Matt and Nick Jackson of the Young Bucks during Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite, which emanates Trent’s hometown of Long Island, New York.
