Joe Gacy sought to break the limits of weight classes at WWE NXT WarGames when he challenged Roderick Strong for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship.
Gacy, who certainly exceeds the 205-pound weight limit of the cruiserweight division, used his size advantage to overpower Strong early on. But the champion utilized his in-ring prowess to take control. He locked in a double-legged Boston crab, but Gacy turned it around and trapped Strong in a Crossface. Once Strong escaped, Gacy dove onto him and his Diamond Mind stablemates at ringside.
Back in the ring, Strong lived up to his nickname, “The Messiah of the Backbreaker”, as he slammed Gacy across his knee and pinned him to retain the title.
