ROH Wrestling Preview: Jay Lethal vs. EC3, The Briscoes In Action, Women’s Title Bout

Ring of Honor has shared the official preview for this weekend’s episode of ROH Wrestling.

In a first-time clash between former world champions, Jay Lethal will face EC3. This bout will presumably be Lethal’s final match on ROH programming; he recently signed with AEW and confirmed that he won’t appear at the Final Battle: End of an Era pay-per-view.

Plus, Rok-C will defend the ROH Women’s World Championship against Gia Scott, and The Briscoes will take on Danhausen and PCO.

The preview, courtesy of ROH’s official website, is as follows:

Jay Lethal vs. EC3

This is the first one-on-one meeting between Lethal, a two-time former ROH World Champion, and EC3, a two-time former TNA World Champion.

EC3, one of the most intense and sculpted athletes in pro wrestling, has been impressive since making his ROH debut a year ago, but he is still searching for a signature victory in an ROH ring. A win over a man known as “The Franchise of ROH” would fit the bill.

Lethal has been one of the most talked about figures in the sport as of late. In addition to Lethal’s fellow Foundation members questioning his loyalty to the faction, he also made his debut for AEW.

In a recent video to promote his match against Lethal, EC3 said: “All of our leaders have failed us. Our political leaders, our corporate leaders, even our locker room leaders. All of our leaders have failed us, and we deserve more.”

ROH Women’s World Title Match: Rok-C vs. Gia Scott

Scott’s incessant complaining about not getting the opportunities in ROH she feels she deserves has paid off, as ROH Board of Directors member Maria Kanellis-Bennett has granted the self-proclaimed “Greatest Damn Woman” a shot at the ROH Women’s World Title.

Champion Rok-C vowed after she won the title at Death Before Dishonor in September that she would defend it against anyone, anywhere, anytime, and she has kept her word.

Scott may not have had much success yet during her short time in ROH, but the 22-year-old is a talented competitor with vast potential. A member of the ROH Dojo, Scott is a three-time former MCW Pro Wrestling Women’s Champion, a title that has been held by the likes of Mickie James and Melina.

If Scott is to win the ROH Women’s World Title on this show, she’ll have to do something no one else in ROH has been able to do: defeat Rok-C. The 20-year-old “Prodigy” is 5-0 in singles competition in ROH.

The winner of this match will go on to Final Battle: End of an Era on Dec. 11 in Baltimore to defend the title against the winner of the Willow-Mandy Leon match that takes place on Ring of Honor Wrestling the weekend of Dec. 4.

Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. PCO & Danhausen

The Briscoes are looking to win their 12th ROH World Tag Team Title when they challenge champions The OGK (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) at Final Battle: End of an Era, but first they’ll face the peculiar team of PCO and Danhausen.

The Briscoes have never faced Danhausen, but Dem Boys are very familiar with PCO. The team of PCO and Brody King had several wild battles with the Briscoes in 2019, including one match in which PCO and King beat the Briscoes for the ROH World Tag Team Title.

Also, Mark Briscoe briefly teamed with PCO at the end of last year when he and Jay weren’t getting along.

PCO and Danhausen have had some success as a team, with their biggest win coming over The Bouncers (Beer City Bruiser and Brawler Milonas) at Best in the World in July.
