Moose Wants To Compete At Wrestle Kingdom, Names Potential Dream Matches

IMPACT World Champion Moose currently reigns supreme with the title around his waist, and he’s eager to climb even higher.

During a recent conversation with Sports Illustrated, he teased a potential return to New Japan Pro-Wrestling; he recently competed at the promotion’s Battle in the Valley and Resurgence events in the United States. He expressed his interest in competing at the prestigious Wrestle Kingdom show and named Kazuchika Okada, Tetsuya Naito, and Hiroshi Tanahashi as three major NJPW stars he’d like to work with again. He also pointed to a fresh clash with Will Ospreay as another compelling option.

“Wrestle Kingdom, I would love to be part of that,” said Moose “I’m a huge fan of their whole product, and I’m proud of my New Japan Strong matches with [Tomohiro] Ishii and Juice. And I would love to work Okada or Naito or Tanahashi again, but there’s a great first-time matchup in Will Ospreay, too. They have a stacked roster.”

There’s no telling what the future holds for Moose, but in the present, he continues to shine as a unique competitor in the wrestling world. In the interview, he described his mission to shed the label of being an ex-NFL player and stated that he should be known as a wrestler first and foremost.

“I bring something different to the table,” said Moose. “I feel like there is no one quite like me in wrestling, and I’m excited to make the most of this opportunity as champion. I used to be known as a former NFL player who became a wrestler.“

“Honestly, I would hear that and take it as an insult. I’ve always wanted to be known as a wrestler that used to be an NFL player, and that is who I am now.”

Moose will aim to continue his run at the top when he defends the IMPACT World Championship against Eddie Edwards at IMPACT Wrestling Turning Point on November 20.
