Mia Yim has been released by WWE.
WWE made several cuts on Thursday, with Mia Yim being one of the names confirmed by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp as being released by the company. According to Sapp, budget cuts were cited as the reason for the releases in an email sent to talent by John Laurinaitis.
Mia Yim appeared in the Mae Young Classic in 2017 and 2018, and later signed with WWE in October of 2018. She worked on the NXT brand until September 2020, when she debuted on RAW as Reckoning in the Retribution stable. Yim later walked out on the group, and was reassigned to the SmackDown brand before she was ultimately traded back to RAW in the 2021 WWE Draft. Despite this, she never reappeared on television and had not worked a match at all in 2021. Yim’s last match for the company was a December 28, 2020 loss to Nikki Cross on WWE Main Event.
Yim confirmed the news, responding to Sapp’s post with the following statement:
90 days, LETS GET TO WORK!
